Vitalyze Review – 8 Facts to Consider
Vitalyze is a nootropic supplement which promotes energy, mental alertness, better mood, and concentration. It’s distributed by SNAC (Scientific Nutrition for Advanced Conditioning), a company from Burlingame or San Carlos in California. They say their product helps the body handle stress while increasing physical work capacity through improvements in muscular oxygen utilization. Like many nootropics, Vitalyze can be used by many people for a variety of reasons.
1) Vitalyze Quick Facts
Among the seven ingredients in Vitalyze are Vitamin B6, Chromium (as Polynicotinate), Copper Sebacate, and Anhydrous Caffeine. One capsule gives you 100 mcg of Chromium, an element which is essential in small amounts. It aids in normal bodily functions and is found in many foods. 20 to 35 mcg is the recommended daily amount for most people, although some people will need more, especially diabetics. Take note: too much chromium can also do the opposite of what it promises – high doses have been linked to impaired thinking, poor judgment, and lessened hand-eye coordination. Do not take more than 200 mcg of Chromium a day unless a doctor says you should.
2) Ingredients of Vitalyze
Vitalyze contains the following ingredients: DL-Phenylalanine (600mg), L-Tyrosine (300mg), Siberian Ginseng (750mg), Vitamin B-6 (30mg), Chromium Polynicotinate (300mcg), Copper Sebacate (1.5mg), Caffeine Anhydrous (225mg).
3) Is Vitalyze Right for You?
There are seven active ingredients in the Vitalyze formula. This includes DL-Phenylalanine (DLPA), L-Tyrosine, and Siberian Ginseng (Eleutherococcus Senticosus). People take L-Tyrosine for depression, ADHD, narcolepsy, improving alertness, alleviating stress, and more. It’s almost a jack of all trades with its variety of brain-boosting effects, and is great for penetrating the blood-brain barrier. Each capsule of Vitalyze has 200 mg DL-Phenylalanine and 100 mg L-Tyrosine.
DL-Phenylalanine is a mixture of D-phenylalanine and L-phenylalanine. Phenylalanine is thought to have analgesic effects (pain relief) and antidepressant properties. You can also find it in foods like eggs, chicken, beef, spinach, and tofu. It’s also in breast milk. L-phenylalanine is involved with the synthesis of norepinephrine and dopamine, can be converted into L-tyrosine, and passes the blood brain barrier more easily than D-phenylalanine. Some research says that D-phenylalanine can help people cope with alcohol withdrawal, arthritis, and Parkinson’s disease. In some cases it could be better to take D-phenylalanine instead of DL-phenylalanine. Unlike L-phenylalanine, D-phenylalanine is not an essential amino acid. In general, phenylalanine is not well studied. Doses and side effects vary between products, and can have dangerous interactions with some medications and conditions. Consult your doctor before buying products containing DLPA, even though side effects are rare.
4) Vitalyze: Pros and Cons
- Although some people don’t like to see stimulants, caffeine is one of the most popular substances on the planet. One to two capsules of Vitalyze should be enough for most people.
- Decent variety of ingredients with a good amount in each capsule.
5) Vitalyze Product Warnings
- SNAC recommends taking up to 3 capsules in the morning or afternoon, preferably after a light meal, and 30 minutes before exercise or weight training.
- Most people will not want the full serving size of 3 capsules.
6) How Much Does Vitalyze Cost?
Each container has 90 capsules, which seems good, but the recommended serving size is 3 capsules a day. The bottle’s label says people should take 1 to 3 capsules daily. Fortunately the price is still relatively average even if this is a month supply for you. Depending on how often you use this product, the price will be inexpensive, average, or high-average. Returns are accepted within 30 days if you ordered from SNAC directly, or Consumer Affairs, and have used 25 percent or less of the supplement. Shipping charges are not refunded, but the other costs are.
7) Vitalyze Directions
Copper Sebacate is supposed to have anti-inflammatory properties and may be more beneficial than similar copper compounds. It’s absorbed well and is unlikely to be toxic. Copper is essential for aerobic respiration in humans and most other animals. The Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) for copper is only about 1 mg a day. You shouldn’t take more than 5 to 10 mg of copper a day, although excess can often be easily excreted through bile. B vitamins are similar in that regard. Vitamin B6 (usually pyridoxine) performs a wide variety of essential functions and an overdose is almost impossible. The RDA is 1.3 mg for adults aged 19 to 50, and instead 1.9 to 2 mg if pregnant or lactating. Some people believe that taking 20 mg of B6 a day can improve cognitive function, but there isn’t strong evidence for this. Vitalyze provides 10 mg of vitamin B6 per capsule.
8) Our Verdict on Vitalyze
SNAC overestimates the serving size and most people will take 2 capsules a day of Vitalyze. If this is true for you, one bottle is a 45 day supply, which is plenty reasonable considering the ingredients here and their price. Almost no one will need or want 3 capsules a day. Taking one or two capsules can deliver excellent results for some people, especially those who are more athletic. You should see a boost in energy and cognitive function when using this supplement.Optimal brain health must be achieved to enjoy the benefits of overall health and wellness. The evidence seems to say yes. There are plenty of good ingredients here, in good amounts.
