As for Theanine 200, the active ingredient L-Theanine is an amino acid derivative enzymatically produced, found in green tea. The company uses SunTheanine brand of L-Theanine.

Theanine 200 is often marketed aș a relaxant, as mood and sleep support, and for stress management.

Does the product cause drowsiness? The company and many consumers claim that it does not, that the product has a calming effect on anxiety without making you fall asleep. The product is beneficial for the brain metabolism and it may improve learning ability.

Theanine 200 exerts protective effects on the brain by reducing glutamate toxicity, and is also known to produce sensations of pleasure by affecting dopamine and serotonin neurotransmitters in the brain.
