Bottom Line
Super Thyroid Support is a supplement which aims to increase energy, support your metabolism, and eliminate symptoms of an unhealthy thyroid. It’s sold by Nova Sun, a company located in Mill Creek, Washington. The benefits of this product are typical of many nootropics, and may positively impact a great many people. This isn’t a must for most, but if you think you need it, you likely will. Always consult your doctor if you’re ever unsure about what you need.
Ingredients
Super Thyroid Support contains the following ingredients: Vitamin B-12, Iodine, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Manganese, Molybdenum, L-Tyrosine, Schisandra Powder, Ashwagandha Root Powder, Bladderwrack Powder, Cayenne Pepper Powder, Kelp
Product Features
There are 14 active ingredients in every bottle. This includes iodine from kelp, zinc oxide, amino acid chelates, L-tyrosine, magnesium, and bladderwrack herb powder. “Chelate” refers to substances (often minerals) with certain types of chemical structures. Chelated minerals have a complex structure which allow them to survive passing through the stomach intact, where they can be absorbed through your intestines. This means nutritionists tend to recommend things which are chelated, because of the greater bioavailability. And iodine helps regulate the thyroid in small amounts, plus it’s thought to reduce the risks from certain types of cancer.
A small point of concern is the selenium and molybdenum. Healthy adults get enough of both substances through their daily diet. Deficiencies are just about unheard of and there isn’t any reason for supplements to have anything but a small amount of each. The molybdenum here is 25 mcg per capsule (50 mcg per serving). The recommended dietary allowance for most adults is 45 mcg and an average diet supplies 75 to 250 mcg of molybdenum as it is. For selenium, an average diet provides 125 mcg a day, and the recommended dietary allowance is 55 mcg. Anything more than 200 mcg a day may increase your risk for diabetes and cancer, and one capsule of this supplement already provides 100 mcg of selenium. If you take more than 400 mcg it’s considered an overdose.

Advantages
- May be better than many iodine only supplements. This includes a variety of vitamins, minerals, and natural products.
- No stimulants like sugar or caffeine. No filler ingredients, artificial colors, or unhealthy unnecessary byproducts.
Disadvantages
- Gelatin capsules are a downside for people who want a vegan product, but some people claim gelatin capsules are easier to swallow and have less taste. Your experience may vary.
- Contains more iodine than listed, because of the additional kelp, and other ingredients which also contain iodine. It’s unlikely that you would need more than 150 mcg a day.
Conclusion
A lot of people seem to believe that this product does exactly what it should. Most reviews and testimonials are positive; they tend to talk about increased energy and metabolism. Most people use this product for thyroid support and health, and it does seem to have a significant impact there. The other positive effects, likely from the nootropics, are a bonus. This supplement has the potential to reduce fatigue and help keep you healthy. It’s especially a good option for people with hyperthyroidism.
