Somadrol is advertised as a non-habit forming sleep aid formula which brings relief from occasional sleeplessness. According to the manufacturer, Engineered Sports Technology, the dietary supplements works by bringing on a natural state of tiredness followed by a night of peaceful rest. Additionally, the manufacturer claims the product will not produce any of the unwanted next-morning side effects associated with other sleeping pills (brain fog and disorientation being the most common).

Engineered Sports Technology, also known as EST manufactures sports nutrition and sports performance products. The company claims their products are manufactured under strict GMP guidelines and in FDA registered facilities. The company product range currently includes 10 products.

Somadrol is advertised as a natural non-habit forming, side effects free alternative to other over-the-counter sleeping pills. Somadrol is recommended to adults who experience troubles falling asleep or who are not enjoying a restful night sleep. Pregnant and nursing women should not use the formula. Should sleeplessness episodes exceed 2 weeks, the supplement should be discontinued and a healthcare practitioner be consulted.

Facts

1) Somadrol Quick Facts

Somadrol is a combination of herbal ingredients, amino acids, vitamins and other nutrients designed to support or enhance sleep quality and duration.

5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) is a naturally-occurring amino acid. Various clinical tests have proven it to be effective in treating chronic headache, anxiety, depression, obesity and insomnia. 5-HTP promotes sleep because it is a chemical precursor and a metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of neurotransmitters Serotonin and Melatonin. Both these neurotransmitters are known to help regulate sleep: high levels of Serotonin are associated with wakefulness and lower levels with sleep, whereas Melatonin regulates the sleep-wake cycle by chemically causing drowsiness and lowering the body temperature.

The Valerian root has been used to treat nervous conditions and sleeplessness for more than 2,000 years. Modern research suggests Valerian increases levels of GABA, a key brain neurotransmitter. The main function of GABA is that of regulating neuronal excitability, reducing anxiety and promoting relaxation. No studies have been conducted to show Valerian’s long term effects, but drowsiness and slowed responsiveness have been associated to taking Valerian.

3) Does Somadrol Work?

This supplement combines numerous vitamins, minerals, amino acids, herbal extracts and other nutrients. Vitamin B6 is an essential vitamin needed by the human body to improve nerve connections and to maintain the right levels of sugar in the blood. High or low levels of this vitamin might bring unwanted side effects. If a vitamin B6 deficiency is left unattended, it might even lead to serious illnesses such as dementia or depression. Vitamin B6 can be acquired from different foods such as meat, cereals, nuts, legumes, bananas and avocado. Supplements usually feature the nutrient along with other vitamins belonging to the B complex.

Vitamin B3 deficiency can also lead to powerful side effects such as dementia. Most of the vitamins in the vitamin B complex have the same effect on the human body in reasonable quantities, high quantities or low quantities. Vitamin B3 separates itself in two different forms that affect different areas of your body.

Zinc is essential for growth and an essential trace element because it is a necessary mineral needed in some processes of the human body. A side effect of zinc deficiency includes: stunted growth and acute diarrhea and slow wound healing. Also, zinc can be used as a booster of the immune system. Some research has found it to be useful when dealing with acne, eczema, psoriasis, high blood pressure, asthma, diabetes, macular degeneration, cataracts, night blindness and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS). Other uses include ADHD, tinnitus and severe head injuries.

Other ingredients include the Valerian Root, a plant known to promote sleep and assist with ensuring its duration and quality.

The recommended daily dose for this supplement is two capsules taken before bedtime for maximum two weeks.

8) Bottom Line – Does It Really Work?

Somadrol is advertised to offer relief for occasional sleeplessness in a non-habit forming formula. Consumer reviews praise the formula’s increased effectiveness and appreciate the fact that they wake up refreshed and energized the next day. All in all, we may say the formula is likely to work for the majority of consumers. However, the manufacturer issues a rather long list of precautions and advises the formula not to be mixed with a few categories of other medicines and drugs. Particularly, driving and operating machinery is forbidden after use.

For cautionary reasons we recommend you thoroughly read the label before use, and, if possible, seek the advice of a specialist.

In the summer when it’s really hot I have terrible insomnia, I roll around the bed all night long and can’t fall asleep. My girlfriend bought this formula for me because she was worried. At first I didn’t use it, but after a second though I tried it and it started to make me less agitated and after a while it helped me get to sleep.

I don’t use this formula on a regular basis, just when I feel restless and need to get a good night’s sleep. It really is not habit forming and works just as well when not used daily.
