Serotain Review – 8 Things You Should Know Before You Buy
Serotain is an herbal remedy that supports serotonin secretion, a neurotransmitter essential to the well functioning of the human brain. The product is promoted as an appetite suppressant, mood elevator and a sleep aid and is based on a proprietary formula Griffonia extract (from a west African medicinal plant) and other natural ingredients.

1) Serotain Quick Facts
The product is a mixture of the 5-HTP amino-acid, plant extracts and magnesium. The formula is based on a main plant ingredient of African origin called Griffonia, a plant whose seeds are known to be an important source of 5-hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP). 5-HTP is a natural occurring amino acid and a chemical precursor. It is a metabolic intermediate in the biosynthesis of the Serotonin secretion.
It should be mentioned that 5-HTP has not been thoroughly studied in a clinical setting, therefore possible side effects and interactions with other drugs are not known. Little is also known on the Griffonia plant extract.
2) What Are Serotain Ingredients?
Serotain includes the following ingredients: 5-HTP, Gelatin, Magnesium, Griffonia simplicifolia extract, Rice Powder.
3) Is Serotain Right for You?
Serotain is a combination of herbal extracts, amino acids, and minerals. The formula contains Griffonia simplicifolia extract, a West African medicinal plant. Unfortunately, there is little information about this plant. It is believed that this plant works along with 5-HTP to increase the production of serotonin.
According to the manufacturer, Griffonia simplicifolia is an important, natural source of 5-HTP. Along with the 5-HTP that is already added to the formulation, the mixture will provide the brain cells with the necessary materials to make more serotonin.
This supplement was associated with several side effects. The most common ones include dry mouth, reduced libido, heart palpitations, tremors, and anxiety.
It is important to note that Serotain was discontinued. Due to this, a long-term treatment with Serotain may not be an option.

8) Our Verdict on Serotain
Serotain was discontinued, so long term treatment is not an option. Furthermore, the benefit claims of the manufacturer are not backed up by empirical evidence.
We do not recommend starting treatment under these conditions.
