Facts

1) Omega 18/12 Fish Oil Quick Facts

Melrose Omega 18/12 Fish Oil is a liquid mixture of Omega 3 essential fatty acids EPA and DHA.

EPA and DHA are considered essential fatty acids because they are not naturally synthesized by the body, but have to be obtained from diet instead. Fish oil is an abundant source of these acids, which can also be found in certain seaweed types.

The most important properties have been extensively studied. There is a sufficient amount of scientific research to back them up. EPA and DHA are essential to the health of the nervous system due to their blood-thinning properties.

They help with peripheral circulation and may help reduce the risk of stroke, coronary artery disease, and diseases generally affected by poor blood circulatory function.

DHA is found in large amounts in the structure of the eyes (retina) and brain. Lack of sufficient DHA levels has been associated with mood disorders, poor memory, or vision impairment.

On the other hand, the EPA appears to be more critical to behavior and may help alleviate depression, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia. Both EPA and DHA may help prevent and treat ADD and ADHD, Alzheimer’s disease, or mild cognitive impairment.

Formula

2) What Are Omega 18/12 Fish Oil Ingredients?

Melrose Omega 18/12 Fish Oil includes the following ingredients: Natural Fish Oil – Omega-3 Marine Triglycerides – Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA), and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA).

Fish oil also has powerful brain health benefits. This is why some nootropics like Mental Clarity Information Retention also have it in their formula.

3) Does Omega 18/12 Fish Oil Work?

Omega 18-12 Fish Oil Liquid is a nutritious drink based on the omega fatty acids’ health sustaining properties. According to the manufacturer, this formula is lemon-flavored to prevent unpleasant aftertaste.

Fish Oil is known to contain high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids. These lipids are essential for the proper development of the body and the maintenance of good health.

Although EPA and DHA are vital to the human body, they must be obtained from food as the body cannot produce them. Intake of omega-3 fatty acids can significantly improve one’s health.

Probably their most important use is with support of the cardiovascular system. Several studies confirmed that omega-3 fatty acids could prevent high cholesterol and blood glucose levels while also preventing some cardiovascular diseases and reducing heart attack risk.

These lipids may also improve overall cognition, enhancing memory, concentration, attention, etc. Although not confirmed, omega-3 fatty acids may also promote healthy cartilage and temporarily reduce arthritic pain.

Unfortunately, the clinical trials conducted to determine whether these lipids can honestly be used in osteoarthritis treatment revealed contradictory results.

For cardiovascular benefit, one should take 5ml daily. For the anti-inflammatory effect, one is recommended 10ml daily or as directed by a health practitioner. Children have supported only half the adult dose.

Like the great majority of dietary supplements based on Omega-3 fatty acids, Melrose Omega 18/12 Fish Oil claims to effectively assist with joints, the heart, and skin health.

The formula’s advantages over many similar products are the lack of artificial compounds, its liquid form, its flavored taste, and the absence of Vitamin A, which also recommends it as a viable alternative for pregnant women.

Although there are no reviews published on the product, we have access to many clinical trials and research studies investigating the health-enhancing benefits of Omega-3. We, however, advise you to talk to a professional before using any dietary supplement.

I am concerned that my cognitive function will start deteriorating; hence I take Omega-3 based supplements for nearly a decade now. This brand in particular I find really enjoyable.

Hi, I’ve been using Melrose fish oil for quite a few years. About 10 years ago I had debilitating pain in both hands, I had steroid injections in the joint at the base of thumb and forefinger, that helped a little, I started taking 25mls per day, and the pain is mostly gone and I have full use of them. I do a lot of craft and jewellery work and need the dexterity and fine motor skills. I now take 50mls, but often forget, so it can be every 2 or 3 days, hence the larger amount, and if left too long it can be 100mls, This becomes expensive, so I want to manage this and not waste the oil. Can you advise on this please, Thank You, Marg

I also have Parkinson’s disease for which I was diagnosed in 2012.
