Energy+ Review – 8 Things To Look For
Energy+ is a dietary supplement primarily aimed at boosting energy levels without stimulants. It’s sold by California company Best Scientific Nutrients. They appear to be recently founded, in 2016, and this is their sole product so far. Their website is a little sparse and not well advertised, but it does contain some somewhat useful information. Best Scientific Nutrients says they studied over a thousand articles on the medical and scientific research behind the ingredients in this product. This took at least several months, and then they released Energy+, even taking it themselves.

1) Energy+ at a Glance
The formula is simple and only has two ingredients, Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCL (ALCAR) and Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA). This is an effective combination of two proven ingredients. Alpha Lipoic Acid is an antioxidant which increases blood flow and may reduce inflammation in some people. It may increase nerve regeneration and repair, and decrease blood glucose levels by small amounts. In large amounts, some people find that it can help with weight loss, but this requires further study to be verified.
2) What’s Inside Energy+?
Energy+ contains the following ingredients: Acetyl L-Carnitine HCI, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vegetable capsule, Rice flour.
3) Does Energy+ Work?
Each vegetable capsule contains 500 mg Acetyl-L-Carnitine HCL (ALCAR) and 150 mg Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA). One study found that this combination could improve mitochondrial function, reduce systolic blood pressure, and have antioxidant effects. It’s a possible treatment for hypertension. The combination of these two ingredients has been fairly well studied and found to be effective. It should be a fast acting formula where one dose a day is sufficient to produce results. Two capsules could work too, but it’s not clear if this will be necessary for some people. Both ALCAR and ALA have shown to be effective with positively impacting mitochondria, sometimes called the powerhouse of the cell. Both substances, especially together, can be an effective brain booster and might even be able to replace a coffee habit.
You should probably not use Energy+ if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, have diabetes, or have a disorder which can result in seizures. Note that the evidence currently points to ALCAR being safe for epileptics, as opposed to previous research which said they should avoid it. In general, it’s best to consult a doctor before buying supplements, just to be safe. Side effects are rare but can include nausea, vomiting, and restlessness.
4) Energy+: Pros and Cons
- Simple formula of only two active ingredients and two inactive ingredients. You know exactly what you’re getting – and what you’re not getting – with every serving.
- No stimulants such as caffeine or sugar, so there won’t be jitters or crashes. Capsules are vegan friendly, without artificial flavors or coloring.
5) Energy+ Warnings and Precautions
- For a slightly better product, the ALCAR could have been increased to at least 600 mg per capsule. Common doses range from 630 to 2500 mg a day for this form of L-Carnitine. ALA is commonly given in doses of 300 to 600 mg daily. So the best possible formula wouldn’t be a 500/150 split like it is here – it’d be 630/300, or with even more ALCAR (with a maximum of 1250 mg per capsule).
6) Energy+ Cost
For a two month supply, the price is good. It falls into the below average range for most supplements. The company offers a 30 day money back guarantee. There’s a good chance you can get free shipping too, to further cut costs. The label recommends 1 to 2 capsules a day, with or without meals, and the price remains fairly reasonable even when taking 2 daily. It’s best to take this in the morning or afternoon, since it’s an energy booster. You don’t want extra energy when it’s time for sleep.
7) Energy+ Directions
Acetyl-L-Carnitine is a nootropic substance involved with energy, metabolism, and the mitochondria in general. It’s found in the human body and some foods. It goes well with some antioxidants like Alpha Lipoic Acid, plus choline and caffeine. It’s thought to be an effective fat burner, but doesn’t do anything on its own unless you have a L-Carnitine deficiency. ALCAR can help you lose weight, through giving you more energy, but generally the weight loss only comes from proper diet and exercise. It has a stimulant effect but isn’t a stimulant and doesn’t have any of their potential adverse effects. There are other forms of L-Carnitine, but this one is primary for cognitive enhancement and energy increases.
8) Final Thoughts on Energy+
The combination of Acetyl-L-Carnitine and Alpha Lipoic Acid has proven to be effective in multiple studies. They even work on their own. Both substances decrease glucose in the blood, provide energy to your cells, and have antioxidant effects. It might take a few days for some people to start seeing the benefits, but it’s common for people to mention they feel energized. If you want energy without caffeine and/or sugar, this supplement might help. There are no clear downsides to getting Energy+ today.

Energy+ Questions & Answers
- Recent:
Energy+ includes the following ingredients: Acetyl L-Carnitine HCI, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vegetable capsule, Rice flour
The use of amino acids in supplements is always good because of how they can cross the blood brain barrier. This product is touted as a potential solution for boosting energy, cognition, alertness, memory, blood sugar control, nerve protection, liver function, and immune system strength. The company says it may have anti aging effects and reduce fatigue. This sounds like a lot, and like Energy+ can't possibly live up to its claims – but it might. ALCAR and ALA are proven ingredients with a lot of great effects. If you want a natural brain booster that provides energy and antioxidant effects, this supplement could do the trick.
