Clear Mood Review – 8 Things You Should Know
Clear Mood is marketed as a multi-nutrient dietary supplement created to support relaxation, promote a sense of well-being, brighten mood and alleviate the symptoms of stress. The formula is offered by AdvoCare, a company specialized in developing different kinds of formulations, from weight-loss supplements to sports performance products. These products are in fact claimed as developed with the expertise of professionals in the field of nutrition, pharmacology, kinesiology, and biology and based on solid scientific evidence. The company also offers the possibility of affiliating to their business to anyone who is interested in promoting these high-quality formulations and increasing their incomes.
This particular formula is addressed to adults who want to improve their mental health as an important part of leading a better life. The targeted individuals are those affected by the physical and mental downsides of nervousness and stress and desire to improve their mood, performance, and disposition. Clear Mood is recommended only for adults over 18 years of age.
The formula is advertised to be effective due to a potent blend of important neurotransmitters essential in stress management (5-HTP) and herbal extracts (L-Theanine and Magnolia extract). These substances have been shown to influence the activity of Serotonin and Acetylcholine, naturally occurring substances when the body is functioning normally. The synergistic blend of these active compounds is claimed to be highly effective in providing long-term benefits and promoting a general sense of well-being.

1) Quick Overview
Clear Mood includes several active substances. Among them, there is the amino acid 5-Hydroxytryptophan, essential in the synthesis of the neurotransmitter Serotonin. This is the synthetic form of the building block of proteins L- tryptophan. This form has drawn a lot of attention particularly because it has the ability to cross the blood brain barrier, which does not seem to be the case of other forms of compounds designed to boost Serotonin levels. Serotonin is needed by humans to regulate mood, body temperature, sleep cycles (it is further transformed into melatonin), learning and appetite, to name only a few of its benefits. When the levels of this neurotransmitters are low, a large number of symptoms may occur, such as: depression and anxiety feelings, irritability, sleeping problems, incapacity to concentrate, fibromyalgia or excessive eating. The side effects that may result from taking 5-HTP supplements consist in nausea and vomiting, drowsiness and digestive problems.
The Magnolia bark extract is a traditional remedy used widely in the treatment of menstrual cramps, digestive problems (bloating, indigestion), nausea, asthma, colds and coughs, and intestinal problems. The chemical that were found to be responsible for the plant’s benefits are known as honokiol and magnolol, believed as up to 1000 times more potent antioxidants than vitamin E. The compounds are believed to provide excellent anti-stress and antioxidant benefits. Recent studies have determined the extract’s potent anxiolytic benefits. Its potency has been compared to a popular antidepressant called Valium, but without its negative side effects. The benefits of the chemicals from Magnolia in increasing Acetylcholine levels have made it a researched compound in the treatment of memory related disorders (like Alzheimer’s disease shown to be characterized by low levels of Acetylcholine). Short term use (up to 6 weeks) of products based on Magnolia officinalis bark extracts is considered likely safe. However, the effects of long-term use are unknown.
Clear Mood by AdvoCare should not be used by pregnant or nursing women. Clear Mood side effects are not listed by the manufacturer, but these may result from the adverse reactions given by each of the active ingredients.
2) Details on Clear Mood Ingredients and Uses
Clear Mood contains the following ingredients: 5-Hydroxytryptophan (seed – Griffonia simplicifolia), L-Theanine, Magnolia extract (bark – Magnolia officinalis), gelatin, rice flour, Magnesium Stearate, and Silicon Dioxide.
3) Does Clear Mood Work?
Clear Mood by AdvoCare contains 5-HTP (also known as 5-Hydroxytryptophan), a precursor to the neurotransmitter Serotonin, a naturally occurring substance which when depleted, may be linked to a large number of mood disorders. 5-HTP is commonly advertised as an effective antidepressant, sleep aid, and appetite suppressant. However, excess intakes of 5-Hydroxytryptophan have been linked to some side effects including nausea, gas, drowsiness, and decreased sex drive.
Other Clear Mood ingredients are an amino acid, L-Theanine and an herbal extract from the Magnolia plant.
L-Theanine is an amino acid commonly found in tea and increasingly more over the past few years as an ingredient in some dietary supplements. It is believed that Theanine can increase GABA levels in the brain and therefore that it can support the production of the neurotransmitters Dopamine and Serotonin. Theanine may be able to penetrate the BBB (blood brain barrier), but the research studies available on this matter are still inconclusive. Clear Mood reviews lack from the manufacturer’s website and are limited in number on other websites. The manufacturer mentions no Clear Mood side effects but merely states that pregnant and nursing women and people under the age of 18 should take cautionary measures before use.
According to the website, Clear Mood works by allowing the cells and nerves to function properly. However, while the sites talk a lot about the role of the brain and the nervous system, there is very little information available to support the manufacturer’s claims regarding this formula. We were unable to find any relevant clinical studies to backup the claims and to understand why the manufacturer believes their product is better than other similar supplements available at this moment.
4) Clear Mood Benefits & Results
- Clear Mood is based on researched active ingredients with proven potency in alleviating mood related symptoms
- The price for a month supply is affordable and moderate as compared to similar formulations
- The official site includes a complete presentation of the formula’s benefits, ingredients and usage directions
5) Precautions of Clear Mood Use
- A full list of drug interactions and side effects is not provided by the manufacturer
- The formula does not come with a money-back guarantee
- The formula is not researched as such (although the active ingredients are tested individually in various trials)
- There is a reduced number of Clear Mood reviews available for online consultation.
6) Clear Mood Price
A bottle of Clear Mood contains 90 capsules, which should be enough for one month of treatment at a maximum recommended dosage of three capsules per day. The supplement is a relatively cheap product compared to other similar supplements. Most orders ship within two business days after being placed. There is an auto-shipment plan that allows for two or more bottles to be sent every month to a predetermined, given address. The formula does not seem to benefit from a money-back guarantee, nor are there any samples available (free or chargeable).
7) Directions For Taking Clear Mood
The suggested dose is 1 capsule 1-3 times per day.
8) Our Verdict on Clear Mood
Clear Mood nutritional supplement is advertised as a potent formula to increase mental performance and promote a general sense of well- being in those who chose to try the product.
The formula does not seem to be the subject of any clinical trial or scientific research or paper. Its claimed benefits are not supported by consumers either. There are only a couple of testimonials available at the time of this review. The manufacturer mentions some vague warnings against the use of this formula in combination with other classes of drugs, including antidepressants, sleep aids or tranquilizers.
Clear Mood pills should also not be combined with alcohol. This supplement may interfere with the ability to drive or operate heavy machinery (which may be an indication of drowsiness as a potential side effect).
Clear Mood by AdvoCare may prove itself as an effective supplement, but at the moment, there is no solid evidence to support any of the claimed benefits. This is why we strongly recommend seeking professional advice prior using the product.

Clear Mood Questions & Answers
- Recent:
Clear Mood includes the following ingredients: 5-HTP, L-Theanine, and Magnolia Extract.
Clear Mood is a dietary supplement released by AdvoCare and is recommended to those in need of a mood enhancer, as well as for improving relaxation and reducing feelings of stress and worry. Clear Mood by Advocare multi-nutrient supplement is recommended for individuals who are at least 18 years old, while younger patients and pregnant and nursing women should take precautions. The formula should be taken one to three times a day and is based on ingredients such as Magnolia extract, 5-HTP and L-Theanine.
Clear Mood reviews unfortunately are scarce and are not able to help us in the process of drawing a clear conclusion. additionally, no Clear Mood side effects are mentioned by the producer, although the core ingredients may under certain circumstances lead to unwanted effects.
While the manufacturer and many of its retailers claim that this product has many positive effects on mood, relaxation and as a consequence, on the overall physical and mental performance, the formula lacks a few key ingredients that are usually available in many high rated supplements.
The lack of clinical researches and concrete evidences to support the practical application and Effectiveness of Clear Mood pills is also a bit disturbing. Thus, we recommend our readers to focus on products that have been fully researched and proved to work. It is important to search for a supplement that will satisfy your needs. That is supported by some positive reviews and testimonials, and that is manufactured by a company with a good reputation.
I think I may be experiencing nausea taking Clear Mood – any thoughts on should I be taking this with food or on an empty stomach?
Christine,
According to the company, you should take one Clear Mood capsule, one to three times daily. Do not combine with antidepressants, sleep aids, tranquilizers or alcohol. If you are experiencing nausea, try taking the supplement after breakfast, launch, or dinner.
Had anyone taken this with a antidepressant also I know it says really not to but I didn’t know if you just take one pill would it help just give you a boost for better moods?!
The producing company clearly states that Clear Mood should not be taken with antidepressants, sleep aids, tranquilizers or alcohol. We strongly recommend not combining dietary supplements with prescription medicine, unless your medical doctor recommends it.
I have been Diagnosed with anxiety from the age of 16 ( now 25) and I have taken different prescription medicines and always had strong side effects or have became dependent on. And never enjoyed the side effects. I have been using clear mood for over a year now and I love it. I don’t take it everyday just on my bad days. I only take one. When I take two I do feel very mellow. Not bad enough to make me not want to drive. Taking three knocks me out. I defiantly recommend clear mood to anyone with panic disorders. I’m not claiming that this is the fix all. Just telling how much it has helped me I haven’t had a panic attack since I have had clear mood in hand. And I even totaled my car this year. Talk about stress lol. Hope this review helps somebody!
I have been taking zoloft for a number of years and just ordered this not realizing that it is not to be taken with antidepressants. Does anyone know why they can not be combined? I was hoping I could get off of the Zoloft by using this in its place.
I took Clear Mood twice daily while coming off high dosages of RX anxiety medication. Obviously I was under the supervision of a medical professional who knew I was supplementing. I am completely off anxiety medication now and have cut my antidepressants by half. Advocare also has a drinking mix that is supposed to help calm you. It’s called oasis. It is blueberry flavored, and I don’t like blueberries, so I won’t try it. I have heard wonderful things about it, though.
We just recently found out that our 16 daughter has depression and is dealing with grief. Would you recommend Clear Mood to her to take on a daily basis instead of a RX medicine. We are trying to figure out in the long run is this safer for her and will it help her with her depression. We don’t hust wont to put her on a RX drug if we don’t have too Are there any side effects with this.
well if advocare is such a great company then why do they not have the side effects or down sides to ththis product, from hat ive found is their are some pretty bad or serious side effects
Unfortunately, dietary companies are not required to list all the potential side effects associated with their formulations. Many will claim that, because the ingredients used have been tested in the past and proven to be safe when taken as recommended, the overall formulation is also reliable when taken as prescribed. That statement is not always true. For that reason, our reviews include a special section regarding potential side effects, and we always advise our readers to do their research as well before buying any dietary supplement.
hello! I have a chronic thyroid condition, i have no thyroids they were removed. So i take a replacement and will for all my life. I have a good life on the replacement no complaints , I do get depressed sometimes , maybe from my chronic condition or just life itself, anyways i have started using clear mood in may , i use it 3 times a day , it increases the serotonin in the brain, I feel more able to handle stress and it keeps the cortisol in my body down so I am able to handle anything much better, even a common cold or an emotionally difficult situation. I use it 3 times a day , i never get tired, i just get happy.
Is Clear Mood known to interact/effect birth control? For example, I am aware the St. Johns Wart will make birth control pills ineffective.
Thank you
YES. It works! I was actually trying to stop using tobacco. CLEAR MOOD calmed me down and got me through the withdrawals. I will continue using it daily since it makes me feel “happy”. As usual Advocare has created a Potent mixture of the best relaxation and Alpha wave inducing herbs. All their product are so potent because they only use the most active form of the teas or herbs.
I have been taking this supplement for one month and can tell a definate difference. It helps with my anxiety symptoms but does not make me drowsy. You can take one or up to three per day.
Traci, it states not to drive while taking but you said it doesn’t make you drowsy? I would like to try but I am in my vehicle several times a day so that was my concern…Help!
I have taken this product for two years. It in no way has ever made me sleepy. Advocare as a company is extremely proactive in disclosing the most extreme possibility in any ingredient, even if it is not the normal. You can start with one each morning and see how you personally feel. That is how I advise those who I help with product, although I take up to three a day, am a busy on the go, work from home and life on the go mom and this actually makes me feel great so the desire to be sleepy isnt there. I of course also use it with Advocare Spark which provides mental clarity and focus so the combination for me has been an amazing regimine to use without any side affects such as weight gain or drowsiness as some of the low dose RX medications I had tried over the years. I am happy to answer questions or help those who want more information.
Sara,
I have horrible anxiety with panic attacks. I have anxiety all day everyday. I want to start taking Clear Mood, but am afraid of anything happening to me. As you can tell I also have health anxiety with anxiety about taking medication. What is your experience with this supplement? How long before I should notice a difference? I am contemplating take Ativan instead, but I truly don’t want to. Thanks in advance for your advice!
Jamie, you sound just like me in my 20’s. I’m pretty sure I psyched myself out about all meds :/ I have taken Clear Mood and did not have any side effects at all. Start with one a day Hope this helps! If you have any questions, shoot me an email.
Advocare does offer a money back and satisfaction guarentee for up to 1 year on any product, as long as it is purchased through a independent distributor. Ordering through amazon/ebay/craigslist nulls the guarentee as it is illegal for distributors to sell through those sites.
