Bio Thrive Labs Omega-3 Review – 7 Reasons Why
Omega-3 is a high potency Icelandic fish oil for heart health, cognitive function, and your immune system. It’s sold by Bio Thrive Labs, who offers a dozen products for sale. They appear to be located in Grandville, Michigan, and may have been founded in the summer of 2014. The company doesn’t offer many details about themselves, other than claims about high quality and strict standards. This does seem to be one of their better products, and most of what Bio Thrive Labs has done is well received.
1) What Are Omega-3 Ingredients?
Omega-3 contains the following ingredients: Carbohydrates, Fat, Saturated Fatty Acids, Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids, Monounsaturated Fatty Acids, Total Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA), Docosahexaenoic Acis (DHA), Other Omega-3 Fatty Acids
2) Is Omega-3 Right for You?
One capsule provides 430 mg EPA and 215 mg DHA, which are relatively average amounts. 740 mg of Omega-3s for one capsule is pretty good, and Bio Thrive Labs suggests taking two a day, which is a high potency dose of Omega-3 fatty acids. Fish oil has numerous benefits, primarily because of these two Omega-3s. Most people don’t tend to get enough Omega-3s, making this an option for a daily supplement. The amounts of each nutrient are enough to be effective and keep your body running smoothly. One potential problem with this product is that it doesn’t list what kind of fish is used. Oftentimes it’s sardine or anchovy.
Generally fish oil has the greatest impact on mental health and keeping a strong heart, with additional benefits for your joints and vision. Starting early with Omega-3s and being consistent is important to staying healthy throughout your life. The only downside is that this supplement isn’t for everyone. High levels of EPA are for most adults, but individual needs can vary greatly. Women who are pregnant or nursing need extra nutrients. Babies and the elderly need high levels of DHA and not much EPA. If you’re not sure about your personal needs, ask your healthcare professional.
3) Omega-3 Health Benefits
- Claims to be burpless product with a natural lemon flavor. Some people do get burps, but you can take these capsules with food and/or freeze them to try and prevent that.
- No fishy odor. Only low quality or expired fish oil supplements will have a significant smell, in most cases.
4) Omega-3 Warnings and Precautions
- No independent verification of the quality and purity of this product. The manufacturer guarantees satisfaction, but there isn’t a good way to know if everything is true as advertised.
- Large capsules which may be difficult to swallow. The company also doesn’t mention what kind of fish their oil comes from.
5) Omega-3 Cost
There are 60 soft gel capsules in each bottle, but one serving is two capsules. So each bottle is a one month supply. If you can find this product on sale, the price is decent. At full MSRP, it’s above average. If you take more than the recommended dose of two capsules a day, the price jumps to extremely high levels. An average adult can take one capsule a day and get a decent amount of Omega-3s, so it’s possible to stretch out this bottle to make it a two month supply. In that case, the price would be average even at MSRP.
6) How to Take Omega-3
Each serving (two capsules) contains 1480 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids, including 860 mg EPA and 430 mg DHA. There aren’t any other active ingredients, so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting. Some extra vitamin D could help though, as many people are deficient in that too. Fish oil is often considered best with the young and the old. It helps cognitive function and behavior in younger age groups. In older age groups it can maintain blood pressure, heart health, memory, and more. A supplement with high EPA is best for the average adult, in a wide age range, and it can do a lot of things. People do report different results, as fish oil’s effects vary by individual. Some people feel they get increased energy and memory from taking fish oil supplements. Fish is known as a brain food, after all. But most benefits are long term. Fish oil is something that can prevent future problems, and as such, there’s no better time to take some fish oil supplements than today. Omega-3s are essential for maintaining a wide variety of bodily functions.
7) Final Thoughts on Omega-3
Overall people seem to like this product, although there’s some dissatisfaction. A few reviewers have said they didn’t like this fish oil. Some people get fish burps or experience an aftertaste, and some people don’t. A few have said these capsules are much larger than normal. There’s a lot of variation in personal experience, so you may not run into any issues. Few people do. Sadly this doesn’t seem to be the number one recommended fish oil for most people. Different brands offer similar products, and some will prefer those brands. Overall, this is a decent product, and plenty of reviewers love it. Bio Thrive Labs appears to have something good here. While there are some benefits, there are also alternatives to add to your existing brain supplementation plan, like a product with a proven track record.

Omega-3 Questions & Answers
Omega-3 includes the following ingredients: Carbohydrates, Fat, Saturated Fatty Acids, Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids, Monounsaturated Fatty Acids, Total Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA), Docosahexaenoic Acis (DHA), Other Omega-3 Fatty Acids
This is a supplement for long term health, aimed at adults between the ages of 18 and 60. This is because of the high EPA content in relation to the amount of DHA. For the elderly and very young, you will need more DHA. For everyone else, this is an effective product which has potential to provide a lot of benefits. Some people have complained about large capsule sizes, so you may need to do some in depth research before purchasing a fish oil. Some people do get burps and an aftertaste, but most don't seem to. This looks like a quality product to deliver essential Omega-3s.
