Ativan or Lorazepam is a form of prescription medication known as benzodiazepines. It is one of the many products that Valeant Pharmaceuticals International Inc. offers.

They are located in Ontario, Canada, and can be reached by phone. They also have an office in California on the West Coast and another located on the East Coast in New Jersey.

The use of Ativan or Lorazepam is promoted as a product that is developed to help reduce severe anxiety when other forms of medication have failed to take care of the problem.

Some individuals, including children, young adults, and the elderly, find that they are overwhelmed by anxiety that can prevent them from having a high quality of life.

This particular mental well-being medication is only offered by prescription. It is typically a final option when the doctor and the patient have already explored numerous treatment options, but the problem still lingers.

Samples of this medication are usually given and closely monitored for about one week. If the patient seems to be tolerating it well, and the side effects are minimal, then a prescription for it to be taken daily will likely be the next step in the process.

What’s Inside?

1) What’s Inside Ativan?

Ativan or Lorazepam includes the following ingredients: Lorazepam.

2) Is Ativan Right for You?

For those individuals with very high levels of anxiety and stress, they often find that insomnia accompanies it. Severe fatigue levels are also experienced as the mind and body are drained of energy because of anxiety. This is a cycle that can continue to get worse and worse over time.

Ativan or Lorazepam is promoted as a product that helps regulate the production of various chemicals in the brain. As a result, there is a way for the person to calm down. The anxiety is lessened, and the panic attacks become less frequent.

However, there is no evidence on the website to verify how all of this falls into place. There is also no information about the various ingredients, either very common with prescription forms of medication. When a person is looking at using such a powerful medicine, they want to know what it contains and how it works.

The recommended dose of this product for adults is 2mg to 6 mg per day. The amount for children 12 and older is between 1mg and 3 mg per day. Typically, the dose of Ativan or Lorazepam will be very little. It will then be increased until it is useful, and the side effects are still weak.

Many side effects have been reported with the use of Ativan or Lorazepam. They include insomnia, hallucinations, nausea, vomiting, headaches, and irritability.

These side effects are usually mild and will diminish as time goes on. Individuals with bone small problems or anemia shouldn’t take this medication.

Cost

3) Ativan Cost

This is one of the most expensive products on the market for anxiety disorder. Lorazepam is the generic form so that it can be found for a lower cost, typically.

Your health insurance may or may not cover this particular form of medication. In some instances, they will cover it for adults but not for children, so you will have to see what they specifically are willing to do based on your insurance plan’s guidelines.

Bottom Line

4) Our Bottom Line

Upon the death of my father and the ensuing family “issues,” I asked my doctor for something that would prevent my mind from racing all night long (which kept me from sleeping). I do not care about drugs, but this one works for me. Unlike most of the people taking Lorazepam, I do not have much anxiety as I have since resolved the problematic issues in my family. However, I still use Lorazepam sporadically when I suspect I may not be able to get a good night’s sleep. Half or one-third a dose does it for me, and I wake up absolutely fine.

I was given valeant ativan told this was brand and not generic. This does work and neither did the
generic. I am starting to believe there is alot of fraud in the manufacturing of these drugs that should
work really well. Certainly when you pay for brand you would expect the ingredients to work.
