Labeled as an herbal supplement that can potentially reduce anxiety and stress, Amantilla is aimed at helping patients achieve a restful and relaxing night of sleep. The product was developed by Nutramedix. The company states that their product is the most effective formulation of the herb valerian root currently available on the market.

Among other claims, this supplement is said to be a good treatment for those suffering from insomnia. Yet we find no information was provided that could point to clinical studies or research that would support their statements. Unfortunately, this is quite a common mistake among food supplement producing companies.

Most of the company’s claims are probably based on the new “boom” of the holistic medicine that becomes more and more popular and accepted form of treatment. Based on this information, consumers will focus more on such products, ignoring the fact that many holistic ingredients may not be as effective as the manufacturers claim.

Synopsis

1) Amantilla at a Glance

Amantilla’s key ingredient, or its primary ingredient, is the Valerian Root. This plant has been used in Asia and Europe for over 1000 years as a sleep aid. Some of its other effects include relaxing the nervous system, decrease anxiety, reduce stress and it even acts as a “feel good” drug, promoting a calming feeling. However, the plant is still under research and while some scientists believe that Valerian root somehow interact with neurotransmitter receptors in the brain, its exact mechanism is still unknown.

The downside to Valerian root is the fact that it has been shown to be mildly addictive, which might make Amantilla a habit forming drug as well. It may cause withdrawal symptoms in those who take large quantities and then stop. Even so, the extract is perfectly safe for those who take small doses on regulate basis. Its addictive properties are only visible in those who regularly take significant doses in order to fall asleep.

However, its exact mechanism is still unknown, as the plant is still under research. Some scientists believe that valerian root somehow interacts with neurotransmitter receptors in the brain.

There is some evidence that Valerian root is mildly addictive and may cause withdrawal symptoms in those who take large quantities and then stop. However, the extract is perfectly safe for those who take small doses on a regular basis. Its addictive properties are only visible in those who regularly take significant doses to fall asleep. Amantilla side effects disappear if the treatment period does not exceed one month. The long-term effects are not known, however.

Does it Work

8) Bottom Line – Does It Really Work?

While the manufacturer describes Amantilla as the most effective formulation of the herb valerian root, the is little to no reason for believing such a claim, given the fact that the very same company provides no documentation of that would back it up. As we mentioned earlier, the Amantilla key ingredient is still under research, due to the lack of conclusive clinical tests.

As for alternatives to buying Amarilla, we can only recommend a very powerful mineral for those who are interested in trying a natural supplement to ease their anxiety and even out minor mood swings. In this case, you may want to consider a product containing the natural mineral lithium. While many consumers believe that lithium is only used as a treatment for more serious mental illnesses, this mineral is actually effective in treating various illnesses from depression and anxiety to insomnia.
