5-HTP Max Review
5-HTP Max is a nutritional supplement advertised as a natural solution for those who want to regulate their appetite and naturally shed the unwanted extra-pounds. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find the name of the manufacturing company.
The supplement seems to be based on a single active ingredient, the plant extract 5-Hydroxytryptophan. The compound is considered an effective Serotonin booster. Serotonin is one of the key neurotransmitters in the brain- essential chemicals for inter-neuronal communication. Without proper levels of these brain chemicals the brain stops functioning normally, and various imbalances occur. In the case of Serotonin depletion, the main health concerns resulted refer to mood imbalances (depression, anxiety), increased appetite (resulting in excess weight gain), insomnia, or endocrine malfunction.
5-HTP Max contains the following ingredients: 5-HTP Max contains the following ingredients: 5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan)
5-HTP Max appears to be a single ingredient supplement, although we cannot be 100% sure because a complete list of ingredients is missing at this time. The formula is advertised as a natural dietary source of 5-HTP. This compound is extracted from an African originated plant called Griffonia Simplicifolia. 5-HTP can also be obtained through conversion of Tryptophan, but the amount resulted is much lower than the one present in the herb indicated above.
The main benefits of 5-HTP supplementation come from its ability to increase Serotonin levels directly in the brain. Serotonin, a key neurotransmitter is produced in the intestines and the brain. 90% of the total Serotonin amount is found in the intestines. The Serotonin present in the brain plays an essential role in brain cell communication. So, indirectly 5-HTP affects the emotional balance of a person, appetite, sleeping patterns, body temperature, and other processes. Studies managed to demonstrate that the extract has similar antidepressant benefits to those of certain traditional drugs such as the SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors). Research also suggests that 5-HTP can improve symptoms of a condition called Fibromyalgia, such as mood problems, morning stiffness, anxiety, pain, and fatigue, a disease in which Serotonin levels have also been observed to be abnormally low.
- The formula is based on a single active ingredient which is a natural herbal extract
- 5-HTP is a widely researched compound with proven benefits in people suffering from insomnia, mood disorders, or overweight problems
- There’s no indication about the amount of active substance delivered by the formula
- The official site of the manufacturer and its identity are not revealed
Although it looks like a natural remedy suitable for people who are trying to lose weight, 5-HTP Max formula does not seem to be a very popular supplement at the moment. We could not find any online testimonials, even though the number of reviews (such as ours) is quite high. We also find it disturbing that the name of the formula’s manufacturer is not revealed. It makes us think that there is something to hide, why else would they fail to mention such important information?
At the time of this review the formula does not seem to be available for online purchasing any more, although a few links towards an official online retailer are provided. We accessed those links but could not find this supplement among those commercialized by the retailer in question.
