Women’s Balance is a dietary supplement based on herbs that may improve hormonal balance in women that suffer from premenstrual syndrome (PMS) or menopause symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, irritability, and sleep problems. The company behind the product is Gaia Herbs.
Gaia Herbs is a producer of herbal supplements from the United States. It has an experience of over 25 years on the local market for herbal remedies. It is also one of the largest growers of certified organic plants in the country, managing a farm of approximately 100 hectares in Western North Carolina. The Gaia Herbs products are distributed in many local stores throughout US as well as over the Internet by many online retailers.
According to the producer, the Women’s Balance formulation is based only on high-quality herbs that have been processed using an ecologically friendly and modern technology that allows consumers to benefit from all the phytochemical compounds found in the herbs in their natural state. In addition, the liquid extract is contained into capsules that quickly dissolve in the stomach (after roughly ten minutes from ingestion). Women’s Balance should be used by adult women who need to alleviate symptoms associated with PMS or menopause.
Women’s Balance Ingredients
Women’s Balance includes the following ingredients: Black Cohosh Root (Actaea racemosa), Alfalfa Leaf (Medicago sativa), Red Clover Blossoms & Tops (Trifolium pratense), Chaste Tree Berry (Vitex agnus-castus), Blue Vervain Herb (Verbena hastata), Wild Oats Milky Seed fresh (Avena sativa), , Dandelion Leaf and Root (Taraxacum officinale), St. John’s Wort Flower Buds & Tops (Hypericum perforatum), Sage Leaf (Salvia officinalis), Vegetable glycerin, and Vegetable cellulose (capsule).
Women’s Balance is a dietary supplement based on a mix of herbs such as black cohosh, which is one of the core ingredients. Black cohosh has been used for many years in the treatment of menstrual cramps and menopause symptoms such as decreased libido, hot flashes and night sweats. According to laboratory studies, it contains active substances like plant estrogens (thus it mimics estrogen in the body) and anti-inflammatory chemical components called isoferulic acids. Specialists have also performed clinical studies on women, which have shown that black cohosh can indeed ease menopause symptoms. However, the safety and effectiveness of the herb have not been studied in long term treatments (more than half a year long). Among side effects we mention headaches and stomach upsets. Black cohosh should not be used by women witg hormone-senzitive medical conditions (like some forms of cancers associated with estrogen).
The Women’s Balance formulation contains a lot of ingredients regularly used in folk medicine for treating hormonal imbalances caused by PMS or menopause. It has not been FDA evaluated however, because this is not a requirement for dietary supplements.
According to the manufacturer, the daily recommended dose is 3 capsules that should be taken between meals. The product comes in bottles of 60 capsules, therefore one bottle covers the supply for 20 days. In addition, Gaia Herbs does not recommend Women’s Balance to pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers.

Gaia Herbs claims that Women’s Balance is a potent and fast-acting dietary supplement that may alleviate hormone imbalances in women and thus ameliorate menopause and PMS symptoms. The product contains herbs with a long historical use in traditional medicine like black cohosh and alfalfa, which would recommend it as an effective formula. However, one drawback is that there are very few online consumer reviews thus we do not have much information on how pleased customers actually are with this product. We believe Women’s Balance may be a good remedy as it contains a high concentration of herbs, but we nonetheless recommend you ask for advice from a healthcare specialist before beginning the treatment.
