Smart Blend is a dietary supplement which advertises as a cutting-edge formula with broad spectrum benefits in more than one health concerns. The formula is developed by MRM (Metabolic Response Modifiers), a company set up in 996 and dedicated to manufacturing a variety of dietary supplements in a number of sports nutrition and health supplement categories. This formula is designed to enhance body fat reduction, support cardiovascular and immune system health and to promote healthy cholesterol levels. Due to its “SMART FATS” proprietary blend in its composition, the formula is suited to athletes, exercise enthusiasts and basically anybody who needs a supplement of essential fatty acids.

The manufacturer claims that regular supplementation with Smart Blend is able to ensure a complete mixture of essential fatty acids as Omega-3 DHA and EPA and the Omega-6 CLA and GLA, without however providing evidence to support this claim.

Smart Blend Ingredients

Smart Blend includes the following ingredients: EPA – Eicosapentanoic acid (from High Performance Fish Oil Complex), DHA – Docosahexanoic acid (from High Performance Fish Oil Complex), Conjugated Linoleic Acid (75% CLA), and Gamma Linoleic Acid (from Borage Oil).

Product Features

Smart Blend is a blend of the Omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA and the Omega-6 fatty acids CLA and GLA.

Modern research has shown that Omega-3 fatty acids and Omega-6 fatty acids play a particularly important role in cardiovascular health and brain function, and work to ensure a positive mood and normal growth and development of hair, skin, nails and joints flexibility. Omega-3s for example are believed to play help reduce inflammation throughout the body — in the joints, blood vessels and elsewhere. However, Omega-3 supplements containing EPA and DHA may determine the blood to thin and thus may cause excess bleeding or interact with anticoagulant medication.

Gamma-linolenic acid (GLA) is an Omega-6 fatty acid extracted from primrose oil. Existing research revealed that GLA (and its metabolite DGLA) are the precursors for the synthesis of prostaglandins, substances known to support a number of essential body functions (cardiovascular, joint, immune health, healthy blood glucose and blood pressure levels).

The recommended dosage is 2 soft gels with a meal up to 3 times daily, whereas for maximum benefits the manufacturer advises a 4 soft gels dose taken up to 3 times daily.

No side effects are mentioned by the manufacturer. Consumer reviews are generally positive with consumers reporting overall health improvement, cardiovascular strength enhancement particularly and loss of body fat (and increase in muscle mass).
