Nutribiotic Organic Rice Protein Plain is a nutritional supplement advertised as a natural alternative source of protein to soy or whey. The organic rice protein plain is a vegan protein obtained from sprouted brown rice. The developer of this product is Nutribiotic, a company with an experience of over 20 years of rice protein processing. The company was founded in 1980 and they produce a wide variety of products such as grapefruit seed extract, vitamin c supplements and body care products from various natural plant extracts.

The manufacturer claims that their product contains all nine essential amino-acids, plus other non-essential ones, but also confirms that it does not meet the required proportions of Lysine and Histidine. Organic rice protein is recommended for people who want to have a balanced intake of protein, but can’t do so through a normal diet. It is also recommended for people that can’t obtain the necessary protein from other natural sources because they are lactose intolerant, or maybe they suffer from gastrointestinal disorders, or for those that are allergic to other types of protein such as soy who is known to be one of the top allergens. Organic rice protein is also advertised as an alternative for vegans or vegetarians.

Nutribiotic Organic Rice Protein Plain Ingredients

Nutribiotic Organic Rice Protein Plain includes the following ingredients: enzymatically processed rice protein from certified organic, whole grain, and sprouted brown rice.

Product Features

Nutribiotic Organic Rice Protein Plain is a natural occurring protein made from sprouted brown rice and is used as a nutritional supplement. Like many other grains, rice is known to be a carbohydrate, which normally means that it does not contain amino acids, so it’s not a sustainable source of protein. So the way the brown rice is turned into a protein rich supplement is by treating it with enzymes thus causing the carbohydrates to separate from proteins. Nutribiot claims that they only use plant enzymes to separate the protein from carbohydrates.

Due to the fact that it does not contain gluten, rice protein is often used by people that require gluten-free diets. It is recommended as an alternative protein supplement for vegetarians or vegans that might be allergic to soy or for people with lactose intolerance, but also for those that simply don’t want to consume proteins that come from animal sources. Because some rice protein brands on the market were discovered to be contaminated with melamine, Nutribiotic wanted to remove any suspicions in regards to their product. They got their organic rice protein tested in an independent laboratory and no traces of melamine have been found in their product.
