Focus Factor is a brain enhancing supplement specially created to support brain function with direct benefits on memory, focus and concentration. Manufactured by Factor Nutrition Labs, the supplement is available in two different formulations: one for children (Focus Factor for Children) and the other one for adults (which we will review below).

The formula contains a proprietary blend of vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts, and Omega-3 fatty acids – 40 active ingredients in total. According to the manufacturer, each of these ingredients have been carefully selected for their unique properties to support overall brain function, memory, focus, and concentration. While Focus Factor has not been the subject of clinical trials or independent investigations, Factor Nutrition Labs claim the ultimate goal behind their formula is to improve memory.

Focus Factor Ingredients

Focus Factor includes the following ingredients: Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Folate, Vitamin B12, Biotin, Pantothenic acid, Calcium, Iron, Iodine, Magnesium, Zinc, Selenium, Copper, Manganese, Chromium, Molybdenum, Potassium, Diemethylaminoethanol, L-Glutamine, Bacopin, L-Pyroglutamic acid, Phosphatidylsering, Docosahexanoic acid concentrate, Choline, Inositol, N-Acetyltyrosine, bilberry fruit extract, GABA, Activin, Vinpocetine, Trace Lyte, Huperzine A, Boron, Vanadium, grape skin extract, dicalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, stearic acid, silica, magnesium stearate, and pharmaceutical glaze.

Product Features

Focus Factor contains 40 active ingredients which, according to its manufacturers, are working together to “create a product which increases blood flow, stirs up brain activity and thus enhances the memory and mental function of its takers.” In truth, we believe that Focus Factor is only a little bit more effective than the average multivitamin supplement sold in any drugstore. Furthermore, most ingredients that can be found in this formulation, can also be obtained naturally from food. In short terms, a proper diet can be just as effective, if not even more effective, in supporting a healthy brain.

Focus Factor contains Vinpocetine, a synthetic version of an herbal extract from a type of periwinkle plant. This ingredient can usually be found in prescription drugs for dementia treatment in Europe. However, Vinpocetine is sold as a supplement in United States. While many companies point out the benefits of this synthetic ingredient, several independent studies were unable to find evidence to support these claims.

On the good side, this supplement also contains Docosahexanoic acid (DHA), an important omega-3 fatty acid that can be found in fish and fish oil. DHA is very important for eye and brain development (it promotes neurogenesis). Basically, this Omega-3 fatty acid can increase the production of brain cells, thus protecting against neurodegeneration.

Beside numerous vitamins and natural ingredients, Focus Factor also includes a list of heavy metals such as chromium, copper, manganese, selenium and molybdenum, metals that have the potential for heavy metal toxicity. Due to this fact, it is highly recommended to not exceed the maximum dosage of 4 tablets per day.

Focus Factor reviews are generally positive, with consumers reporting enhanced focus and an overall good experience for the money they spent for the product.

Advantages

  • It contains a rich combination of vitamins and minerals which may improve brain activity;
  • The product is a mixture of natural ingredients and it can easily be used as a multivitamin supplement;
  • There are many positive reviews and testimonials online;
  • Affordable price;
  • The formula has been on the market for many years.

Disadvantages

  • Focus Factor is not recommended for individuals experiencing severe focusing or memory problems;
  • There have been reports of side effects associated with the use of Focus Factor;
  • The product contains a number of heavy metals which, if not taken correctly, may lead to heavy metals toxicity;
  • Focus Factor ingredients are diverse and numerous, making it difficult to directly link the core benefits to the formula;
  • The huge number of different ingredients may cause problems because of possible interactions with other supplements or with prescription medicine.

Conclusion

It is a well known fact that as people age, most of them will eventually begin to experience difficulty in focusing, thinking, memorizing things, and brain fog. In order to enhance the brain functions, many of these individuals seek help in the form of brain vitamins or supplements.

People must understand that memory is a very complex and delicate phenomenon. Memory is affected by a number of factors such as physiological changes, genetics, education, emotions, and experience. Why our memory decays as we age remains largely a mystery.

Focus Factor promises very good results but the lack of clinical studies to support their claims is concerning. We believe that the first step in fighting memory decay is getting medical evaluation. Some types of dementia are reversible, while others’ evolution can be slowed down by exercising your brain. In any case, Focus Factor may be effective in some patients, but we recommend further research before purchasing this brain supplement.

    My doctor recommended Focus Factor along with two other possibilities. I decided to try this one out first and it definitely works better for me than gingko supplements. For 10 days now, I’ve experienced no side effects and I feel more alert at work.

    I’m pretty scatterbrained usually, but I found that these pills work quite well for me. They helped me stay focused on the task at hand and I had no trouble controlling my wandering thoughts. I don’t know about long-term use, but I definitely recommend taking Focus Factor before exams or whenever you need a boost in focus and attention.

    I love taking Focus Factor at the start of a busy day. It keeps me mentally alert and focused and I also have a lot more energy. I can really tell the difference if I forget to take my daily dose. Focus Factor is something that I recommend to anyone who wants extra focus, concentration and mental alertness, in a natural supplement. I haven’t experienced any side effects.

  4. 4

    I’ve taken Focus Factor for 3 months and they really see to work for me. I don’t care if it’s just the placebo effect, but I can feel the difference when I stop taking them. I generally take three pills in the morning, half an hour before meal.

  5. 5

    It didn’t really help me focus. Soon after I started taking Focus Factor I began having migraines and feeling dizzy, so I stopped. I don’t dare to continue using it.

  6. 6

    The vitamin complex in it is definitely worth a try, but I’m still waiting to see some improvement in focus.

  7. 7

    I’m 17 of age and I too will have difficulties in focusing in school. My mom saw this product in the store and suggest to me to take them, how many should i take? I’m afraid these aren’t the pills I should be taking, do to the side effects and such. Is it safe? Please get back! Thank you

It started getting serious when I got a job inside a very active working environment. There was a lot of competition and I decided to play every advantage that I could. Focus Factor is my secret weapon.

    So many ingredients with so little effect… Unforunately, this is not what I’ve expected and payed for. Maybe I will have better luck next time.

  17. 19

    Focus Factor did exactly nothing in my case. Glad to hear that for one of us it worked, but I didn’t notice anything different during my 5 months treatment. I am very disappointed.

  18. 20

    It’s a shame that they do not offer a free trial, because then more people would try it and see for themselves the efficiency of Focus Factor. Once you have tried it, you will for sure reorder this product!

  19. 21

    I have recently replaced Focus Smart with Focus Factor, and I could say that Focus Factor is way much better. After a short period of time I felt consistent improvements, while with Focus Smart I didn’t feel anything after long periods of treatment. So, my advice to you is: even if you pay more, the quality speaks for itself!

  30. 32

    During exams I always take supplements to help me calm my nerves and concentrate on the important stuff. When my usual choice failed me a couple of times I decided to switch to Focus Factor and I’m very pleased with what I got.

    Everybody around me, family, friends and work colleagues tell me I’ve become more organized and less forgetful since I started using Focus Factor. While I also noticed the difference, I’m not sure if it is safe to use Focus Factor for a long time. I haven’t found much research online.

    Jennifer "Jill"

    I notice a huge improvement in my memory retention when I take FocusFactor. I’m 35 yrs old and i’m taking some college classes and this product helps me a lot. One problem tho: I experience vivid dreams every night..which is not that good.

  36. 42

    Focus Factor is an excellent product. Top quality ingredients, good reputation company, solid customer service. 10++ from me

  37. 43

    I believe Focus Factor works. It helps me concentrate and focused. I got my first bottle from amazon. The package arrived in time and was purchased at a great price. Thumbs up!

    Belinda Mcbride

    I see little difference between this and the Ginkgo Biloba supplement i have taken for years. Kinda disappointing…

  39. 46

    The fact that the ingredients in Focus Factor (or most of them) are presented as “proprietary blend” is a bit discouraging. I was never a fan of such formulations. However, the product works. I’m using it for almost 2 months with no side effects and with very good results. In the end…this is the only thing that matters.

  40. 47

    My doctor told me about Focus Factor for memory support, concentration, brain health and general mineral/ vitamin support. I’m really happy with results so far.

  41. 49

    nicole pendley

    Focus Factor is NOT effective! It had no positive effects on my mind. Sorry to say this, but it doesn’t work

  42. 50

    jerry patterson

    this was an amazing product i tried it a few months back and have been taking it ever since i got some for my brother in law and hes loving it too

  43. 51

    Ok, so Focus Factor costs about $26.00 for 150 Tablets (or the two pack for $39.95 – 300 Tablets); while Focus Smart costs around $20.00 for 240 Tablets (or the two pack for $40.00 for 480 Tablets). Seriously?

    I think i’ll say “No” to focus factor and try focus smart instead…

    • 52

      Hi Joe…I see your point here but allow me to say it’s wrong.
      You cant compare 2 products by price only. From my point of view, Focus Factor is far better and far more effective than Focus Smart. You need to take into consideration the quality of ingredients, the company reputation and so on…

  44. 53

    not impressed with FF.
    in fact, I should have just said that i got this floating sensation and a “cold” feeling headache on the front of my forehead. its hard to say if this is a personal reaction to the product or something else…but i wont use FF again.

    • 54

      Sorry to hear that Brian. I also have been an avid user of Focus Smart for several years now. From my point of view, they are the best multivitamins you could possible buy. Sorry to hear about your headaches and maybe you are right with the allergic reaction.
