Braino is marketed as a professional-strength brain supplement formula with multiple benefits on brain structure and function. The manufacturer is a company called Island Nutrition. The core benefits claimed refer to sustained energy (without the jitters), sustained focus, memory, recall, clear thinking, creativity and verbal ability, mental alertness, healthy eyesight and hearing and positive mood and overall well-being.

According to the manufacturer the formula work by supporting oxygen supply to the brain, cerebral circulation, neurotransmitter quantity and activity, brain nerve structure and brain-cell regeneration. The manufacturer also claims that while some of Braino’s effects will be felt immediately, there are some improvements which will be visible over a period of weeks or months. The supplement is positioned as a formula able to provide immediate energy support, while also exercising benefits on the long term, including memory support, and brain energy. These are particularly important because as people age, body organs and systems have superior needs to function properly.

Braino is recommended for adults exclusively. The formula is also suited for vegetarians.

Product Features

Braino is a blend of vitamins, amino-acids, herbs and other nutrients designed to support memory, focus and overall brain function.

Acetyl-L-Carnitine is one of the key ingredients of the formula. It is an amino-acid essential for mitochondrial energy metabolism. Acetyl-L-Carnitine is produced in the liver and kidneys but can also be taken from certain foods (fish, poultry, dairy products or red meat). It is found in various concentrations in the brain and its levels decrease significantly with aging. The nutrient is being investigated for benefits on Alzheimer’s disease and mild cognitive impairment, in the sense that it may slow down the rate of cognitive deterioration (verbal critical abilities and memory). Even though is considered a safe supplement, consuming more than 3g daily may cause mild side-effects (vomiting, rashes, diarrhea and a fishy body odor).

Bacopa Monnieri or Brahmi is a herbal ingredient, largely used by dietary supplements today for its antioxidant properties. Brahmi is believed to increase certain brain chemicals that are involved in thinking, learning and memory. Evidence even suggests that it might prevent mental deterioration that leads to Alzheimer’s disease, and further investigations are currently undergoing. Brahmi is considered safe for adults when used appropriately and short-term. Common side effects experienced include bowel movements, stomach cramps, nausea, dry mouth and fatigue.

The product did not receive any consumer reviews. The manufacturer recommends taking 4 capsules daily.

Advantages

  • The main ingredients of the formula have been researched and proven to positively impact cognitive function
  • The formula is suited for vegetarians
  • Extensive information offered on the manufacturer’s website (main ingredients, core benefits, action mechanisms, etc.)

Disadvantages

  • Extremely expensive product (a month’s supply can cost up to $100)
  • The product efficiency and benefit claims are weak, as the manufacturer brings no argument or evidence to prove them
  • The main ingredients may cause side effects, even if the manufacturer mentions none for the formula

Conclusion

Braino is a mixture of nutrients claimed to be a premium brain supplement. The manufacturer however offers little information to sustain many of its claims, from the fact that the formula works immediately to the main benefit claims. Most of the main ingredients have been linked, one way or another, to proper brain function.

However a formula’s efficiency takes more than putting together these ingredients, and, in the absence of any consumer reviews or any other type of evidence to support the entire formula’s benefits, we cannot formulate a clear opinion. We do advise, though, that you further investigate the formula if you decide to use Braino and ask the opinion of a physician.
