Amen Clinics NeuroCalm is manufactured by a company named Amen Clinics, founded in 1989, by Daniel G. Amen. The company uses a more unorthodox method of diagnosing their patients, called single photon emission computed tomography, or SPECT imaging, which received mixed opinions from the public and experts alike. This brain-imaging technology is said to measure blood flow and neural activity, but The American Psychiatric Association stated that these techniques may not be reliable in determining or treating any ailment. Amen Clinics can be found in six locations in America, as specified on their website.

Amen Clinics NeuroCalm is promoted as a product that would balance GABA and Glutamate, the brain’s neurotransmitters, in order for a person to feel calm and relaxed. Amen Clinics portrays the supplement as essential in protecting the brain, shielding it from the information overloaded world we live in. Studies have shown that these amino-acids can break through the BBB (blood-brain barrier), but it is not certain whether its other ingredients act centrally within the brain or not.

Amen Clinics NeuroCalm is designed to help people who have to deal with a stressful environment, or who are prone to panic and even anxiety attacks. The Magnesium, Vitamin B6, and Green Tea extract give the user a sense of calm, by relieving tension and supporting relaxation. Amen Clinics also says their product is aimed to help those who suffer from irritability problems or mood swings.

Amen Clinics NeuroCalm Ingredients

Amen Clinics NeuroCalm contains the following ingredients: Vitamin B6, Magnesium, Taurine, N-Acetylcysteine, Green Tea, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Silica, and Magnesium Stearate.

Product Features

One of Amen Clinics NeuroCalm’s ingredients is N-Acetylcysteine, a nutritional supplement and pharmaceutical drug which was proven to be useful many times over the years, either by managing a paracetamol overdose, or in the repletion of sulfate, treating autism patients. It has been used throughout history as a dietary supplement with antioxidant properties and the ability to protect the liver. It is commonly used in cough medicine due to the fact that it can liquefy mucus. In this formula, however, its role is to balance out the neurotransmitter Glutamate, while Taurine balances GABA, in order to make the user feel at ease.

Amen Clinics NeuroCalm also contains Vitamin B6, Green Tea and Magnesium, making it a multi-vitamin formula, which proposes to relax the consumer and give him a state of calm throughout the day. It claims to naturally balance an overstimulated brain by modulating the inhibitory and excitatory neurotransmitters. While one could benefit from a “mood boost,” consumers are cautioned to maintain a steady intake of fluid while taking NeuroCalm. This might be due to the fact that it is not recommended to use the dietary supplement if you are using other medication, like anticoagulants, in conjunction with it. The manufacturer suggests to take four pills per day to experience the desired effects.

Conclusion

Though NeuroCalm’s ingredients have been shown to be helpful individually, there are no studies to prove the effectiveness of this particular mix of ingredients. While it is true that maintaining a balance between the GABA and Glutamine neurotransmitters is necessary to reduce restlessness and induce a feeling of calm and relaxation, there is no conclusive evidence to support the product–s claims. However, Taurine and NAC have been shown to go through the BBB, unlike other supplements. So, if you are feeling overwhelmed by stress, or anxiety is taking over you day-to-day life, maybe NeuroCalm will do the trick for you.
