Alpha-GPC is a powerful brain health and brain function ingredient often added as part of a nootropic blend. However, there’s nothing stopping companies from making a solo-formula with just Alpha-GPC.

And that’s exactlt what Douglas Laboratories did when they released their very own Alpha-GPC supplement.

Alpha-GPC is known for a lot of good brain effects, especially when it comes brain health, but can the supplement named after it work as advertised?

Read our Alpha-GPC review to find out.

Ingredients

3) Alpha-GPC Ingredients

Alpha-GPC includes the following ingredients:

  • Alpha-GPC (alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine from soy)

Alpha-GPC is known to work two ways:

First, it supplies the brain with acetylcholine, the precursor to choline. More choline can lead to enhanced brain function, especially when it comes to memory.

Second, it promotes brain cell membrane flexibility. Without being too technical, having a “flexible” brain cell membrane allows brain cells to survive longer.

Alpha-GPC can also pass through the blood-brain barrier, making it an effective brain supplement.

Due to the potency and effectiveness of Alpha-GPC as a nootropic ingredient, it can be found other popular brands such as Qualia Mind and Alpha Brain.

Other inactive ingredients: Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (capsule), microcrystalline cellulose, silica, vegetable stearate, and magnesium silicate

4) Does Alpha-GPC Work?

Alpha-GPC is always known to be an effective brain health supplement. Several studies agree on how it can positively influence brain function, especially in older patients who have neurological conditions.

Verdict

10) Our Final Take On Alpha-GPC

Alpha-GPC is known to support neurological function in general, while also reducing risks of age-related brain disorders. There is solid science behind this ingredient, so you can’t really go wrong.

While comprehensive research exists on GPC, which proves its effectiveness on many health conditions, particularly cognitive performance, reviews are a mixed bag.

They go anywhere from “amazing” to “don’t see any difference.”

Granted, Alpha-GPC works best for those who are deficient or have brain disorders, so a well-functioning brain won’t really see any positive effects.

The only drawback is the price. For what it asks you, you can buy cheaper alternatives that do the same.

Regardless, Alpha-GPC has always worked. If you don’t mind the price, it’s an ideal long-term brain health supplement.

My husband started to have memory problems so I started asking around for some suggestion regarding a supplement and my cousin suggested this one. I had to convince my husband to use it, but now he’s very pleased with its effects.

My father give me this formula when he last visited, when I saw that it contains just one ingredient I though is was ineffective so I put it away. Afeter a few months I remembered I had it and decided to give it a try, I was wrong and it’s quite effective. Just after one month my focus is better than ever.
